Mohamed Salah bagged a brace as Liverpool strolled to a comfortable 3-1 victory over Arsenal at Anfield.
Joel Matip headed home the opener from Trent Alexander-Arnold's cross just four minutes before the interval.
Just two minutes after the restart, Mohamed Salah won and converted a penalty to give the Reds some breathing room.
The Egyptian saved the best until last with a stunning solo goal to put the game to bed before Lucas Torreira's late consolation as Liverpool surged to the top of the Premier League table.
Unai Emery ripped up his favoured 4-3-3 formation and set up with a 4-3-1-2 diamond to flood the centre of midfield, with Alexandre Lacazette dropping to the bench.

While it was a defensive measure leaving the wings fairly exposed, with Andy Robertson and Alexander-Arnold able to roam without opposition.
Liverpool began on the front foot, aggressively pressing the Arsenal backline deep in their defensive third, and Roberto Firmino was a matter of inches away from getting on the end of Robertson's low cross.
But the Gunners gameplan, knocking it up to Nicolas Pepe and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, started to take shape and it nearly resulted in the deadlock being broken. Adrian came rushing off his line to make the clearance but it went straight to Aubameyang, who's audacious lob bounced just wide of the far post.
Who started at Anfield?
Liverpool XI: Adrian; Alexander-Arnold, Gomez, Van Dijk, Robertson; Wijnaldum, Fabinho, Henderson; Salah, Firmino, Mane
Arsenal XI: Leno; Maitland-Niles, David Luiz, Sokratis, Monreal; Guendouzi, Xhaka, Ceballos; Pepe, Lacazette, Aubameyang
Pepe was beginning to make a nuisance of himself on the break and had a curling shot saved as he tested the pace of Virgil van Dijk.
But after a bright spell of 10 minutes or so, Liverpool wrestled back control of the match and put the Gunners under real scrutiny towards the end of the half. It was no surprise to see them go ahead when Alexander-Arnold's corner found Matip and he headed home emphatically.
It was a case of whether Arsenal should go for the equaliser or try and protect the one-goal margin. But David Luiz had a plan of his own - and it cost Arsenal a chance of taking any decent result back to London.

After some neat link-up play from Firmino and Salah, the Egyptian appeared to be in on goal. Luiz tried to prevent him with a cheeky tug of the shirt, but referee Anthony Taylor spotted it and dished out the yellow card.
It was a moment of madness from the Brazilian - one Chelsea fans will attest they have seen once too often - and Salah made no mistake, hammering his penalty into the top corner.
Liverpool had their tails up and were hungry for a third. In his attempts to find a goal back, Emery tried to organise his side into more of an attacking threat but they were soon caught cold. Salah raced down the right and left Luiz in his rearview mirror.
Next up was Nacho Monreal, but the Spaniard was no match in terms of pace or intelligence as Salah cut inside and expertly rolled his effort into the corner to cap a stunning solo goal.
From there, it was clear there was no way back for the Gunners and it was simply a case of damage limitation with the home side absolutely flying.
The Gunners refused to give up their chase for a goal and got their reward when substitute Torreira fired a low shot into the bottom corner to deny Klopp's men a clean sheet again.
But the damage was already done. The gulf in class was evident and despite some bright moments for Arsenal, they were no match for this Liverpool side who are surely preparing to go another round in the fight for the league title.
