'Bully' TAL takes three years to pay out nurse's insurance claim ... and that wasn't the end of it

The royal commission heard that life insurance giant TAL took more than three years and multiple complaints to the ombudsman to pay out a nurse's income protection claim … but that wasn't the end of her battle with the company.

This morning, the commission heard how CommInsure denied a woman's breast cancer claim because she didn't have a total mastectomy and therefore didn't meet the insurer's undefined requirement of "radical surgery".
