Police have sealed off a street in Chorlton after reports of a stabbing tonight.
A large cordon is in place in Wilbraham Road at its junction with Ellesmere Road South.
Witnesses have called the police response "huge". There have been reports the incident happened on board a bus, but this has not been officially confirmed.
One passer-by told the M.E.N.: "I was just walking past when the bus suddenly stopped and everyone poured out of the bus.
"It was scary. The police response is huge. It is crazy."
Greater Manchester Police have been contacted for a comment.
