How it happened: updates on coronavirus outbreak and response in Canberra, April 15

The ACT has recorded just one new coronavirus case in the past four days, and the national infection rate is also slowing.

It's prompted more talk about how the country will eventually start moving out of the strict social distancing restrictions that have been in place for recent weeks.

Construction, education, manufacturing and agriculture are likely to be among the first sectors to experience an easing of restrictions when the peak of the COVID-19 crisis passes.

Authorities, however, warn that it's not over yet, and any premature relaxation could see cases spike again.
