As it happened: Next step in Canberra's lockdown exit

The ACT recorded 13 new case in the 24 hours to 8pm Thursday.

There were 20 Canberrans in ACT hospitals to 8pm on Thursday night, including 11 in intensive care. Five people were receiving ventilation.

Canberrans have also starting to hit the shops today, with applause heralding the eased restrictions at Kmart Tuggeranong.

In more good news for territorians, we only have week to go until October 29 when restrictions will be significantly eased. Free travel between Canberra and Victoria is also set to restart for the first time in more than three months after the ACT Chief Minister cleared the way for eased travel restrictions.
