Live updates as pro-Palestinian protesters march into Nottingham city centre

Protestors have started a march from the Forest Recreation Ground to Nottingham's Old Market Square to 'speak for those in Palestine who can't'.

It is the second weekend of demonstrations after hundreds of people converged on the city centre last Saturday, May 15, over the conflict between Israel and Palestine.

A ceasefire between the two sides was agreed and is currently holding as aid arrives in Gaza.

But protestors have still gathered in Nottingham, after a post on social media said: "Stand up, use your voice and speak for those in Palestine who can't. Join us on Saturday no matter what race, ethnicity or religion you are and let's raise awareness for the victims."

Crowds chanted 'no justice no peace' and 'stop the war' as people gathered with placards and flags last weekend.
