Large number of police spotted outside pub

Around eight police cars and 30 officers have been seen at a Nottinghamshire pub.

A NottinghamshireLive reader said they were first spotted at about 5.30am on Thursday.

The heavy police presence can be seen at and around The Wolds pub in Loughborough Road, West Bridgford.

A Nottinghamshire Police spokesman said: "We were called to a business in Loughborough Road, West Bridgford at around 5.15am this morning (Thursday 25 April) following reports of a burglary during which the offender smashed the rear door of the business and took a quantity of cash.

"Although we do not currently have a description of the offender, we believe they left in the direction of the ASDA car park, possibly in the direction of Rugby Road.

"Our enquiries are ongoing and we are keen to speak to anyone who may have been in the area at around this time. Please call 101 quoting incident 70 of 25 April."

An employee at a local newsagents, who didn’t want to be named, said she saw about three police cars and two vans but didn’t know what had happened or how long they were here.

Officers had left the scene by 7.45am.
