Four vehicle crash on the M4 caused delays near Newport

A four vehicle crash is caused disruption to traffic on the M4 near Newport.

The crash closed one lane on the M4 eastbound between junction 27 (High Cross) and junction 26 (Malpas Road) at about 6.30pm.

Traffic cameras showed queues building on the approach to the Brynglas Tunnels.

7.52pm - Crash now cleared

Traffic has now eased around the affected area.

The crash has been cleared and all roads have reopened.

7.37pm - Traffic is still slow moving

Traffic is beginning to clear but is still slow moving through the area.

Congestion is starting to clear (Google)

7.25pm - Lanes have now reopened

Traffic cameras show the single lane closure was lifted at about 7.20pm.

All lanes are now open.

7.13pm - Vehicles appear to be moving

Traffic does appear to be moving slowly through the area.

There are still long delays eastbound.

7.10pm - Traffic is queuing from the Malpas road turn off


Google live traffic maps appear to show heavy traffic eastbound from junction 26 (Malpas) to junction 28 (Tredegar Park).
