As it happened: ACT outbreak at 83 cases as lockdown nears one week

Good afternoon, Canberra.

It has been one week since we learned of the first case of Covid in the ACT. We will continue to bring you updates today as they develop.

There are now 83 active cases in the community.

As thousands of Canberrans waited in quarantine this week, many more lined up at testing facilities across the territory.

Two people in Queanbeyan tested positive for COVID-19 on Thursday and regional NSW learned lockdown would be extended.

The ACT government has promised to do better to advise people on what the wait times are at various test sites.

The live blog appears below this article, and sometimes takes a moment to appear.
