The company behind an electric flying taxi which had its first major test run in 2017 is to trial the system in Singapore.
German start-up Volocopter is hoping to launch their service this year after the test run in Dubai two years ago.
Volocopter's co-founder is in talks with Singapore regulators to carry out a public test in the coming months. The firm is planning to have their air-taxis up and running in the next two to three years.
According to The Star Online, Volocopter boss Alexander Zosel said: "For the commercial routes, we have two customers profiles: one is a business customer, so perhaps from the airport to the business centre, or for tourists flying from Marina Bay to Sentosa."
Speaking before the flying vehicle took to the skies in 2017, Zosel, ssaid: "We only go public when we can show something that flies. We show facts, not visions."
The Volocopter has a number of backup safety features in case the autonomous system fails.
Writing about the vehicle on their website, they said: "The Volocopter 2X incorporates superior design systems in all critical areas assuring the highest degree of reliability. This encompasses propellers, electric motors, battery packs, electronics, displays and much more. In addition, all communication networks are connected via the latest optical fibers - in other words "fly-by-light". There are also numerous support systems for flight control and stabilization.
