Live Talk TV debate halted as loud crash is heard in front of shocked looking Liz Truss

A live TV debate between Tory leadership candidates Liz Truss and Rishi Sunak has been halted after a loud crash was heard as The Foreign Secretary was speaking.

Liz Truss looked shocked and appeared to say "my god" as she walked from the podium, before the feed was then cut

Talk TV later tweeted that the incident was a 'medical issue', before confirming presenter Kate McCann had fainted and that the programme could not continue. The debate was being hosted by The Sun/TalkTV, with voters asking questions of the two wannabe Prime Ministers. The debate was the latest between the two contenders hoping to be the next Prime Minister, with both appearing on the BBC on Tuesday night - July 25.

In a Tweet, Talk TV said: "There has been a medical issue. It's not a security issue and the candidates are okay."

It tweeted subsequently: "Kate McCann fainted on air tonight and although she is fine, the medical advice was that we shouldn't continue with the debate. We apologise to our viewers and listeners."
