Melbourne's latest postcode data shows only one Melbourne postcode now has more than 100 active COVID-19 cases, compared to 16 postcodes nearly a month ago.
Meanwhile, Premier Daniel Andrews says comparisons between coronavirus restrictions in his state and New South Wales do not acknowledge the level of community transmission in Victoria, with Chief Health Officer Brett Sutton emphasising that stringent contact tracing is not a substitute for restrictions.
It comes after Prime Minister Scott Morrison put pressure on Victorian authorities to move out of coronavirus restrictions sooner.
