Live: Government boosts JobSeeker partner pay threshold to almost $80k

Prime Minister Scott Morrison announces that more people freshly out of work will be eligible for Centrelink payments, with a boost to the cap on what a partner can earn before the job seeker is ineligible.

A new "JobKeeper" wage subsidy scheme has also been announced, giving businesses up to $1,500 per fortnight per employee to keep people working.

Australia now has 4,000 cases of COVID-19, up from the 3,000 cases recorded on Friday.
