As the Cabinet Office consultation on transparency and more open government draws to a close, we are partnering with the Cabinet Office to bring you a live, online Q&A session on this increasingly important topic, which is changing the shape of many public services.
Leaders of all public services will have their views on the balance between setting transparency standards to establish public rights to information and the burden of providing the most open data. What do you think about how to collect and publish the most useful data, to ensure government is both effective and seen to be effective in its operations?
This is the first in a series of discussion across the Guardian's professional networks about how can we best embed a culture of openness and transparency in public services, so join us on Thursday 20 October from 12-2pm or post your comments and questions early for our expert panel.
