Trump agrees to 'orderly transition' after Pence declares Biden's election win

President Donald Trump has agreed to "an orderly transition" of power to Joe Biden on inauguration day on January 20, while making it clear he "totally disagrees with the outcome of the election".

Vice-President Mike Pence defied Mr Trump's push to overturn the election today, declaring the electoral college result approved by Congress after hours of debate and an assault on the US Capitol.

Senate leaders from both parties denounced the attack by "domestic terrorists" who attempted to stop the electoral college vote count.
