Live: NSW Now: Anyone with flu symptoms in outbreak centres can be tested for coronavirus, says NSW Health

Coronavirus testing is no longer limited to those showing symptoms after contact with a case or returned travel.

Here's what you need to know this morning.

Coronavirus testing expanded

NSW Health says anyone with flu symptoms in areas of Sydney and NSW that are considered to be at risk of wider community outbreaks can be tested for coronavirus.

Testing in most states was limited to those with a specific set of symptoms, who have either recently travelled overseas or have been in close contact with a confirmed case of COVID-19.

Now, anyone in outbreak centres including Sydney's inner west, Waverley, Woollahra, Randwick, Ryde, Penrith, Liverpool, Blacktown, Cumberland and Westmead can be tested.

Federal Health Minister Greg Hunt said the biggest concern about coronavirus in Australia was that there were undiagnosed cases within the community unwittingly spreading the virus.

Police pursuit ends in crash

A man has been charged with dangerous driving after allegedly ramming into a police vehicle before crashing in Sydney's west.

NSW Police said a 22-year-old man was allegedly speeding down Parramatta Road at Homebush West and failed to stop when signalled by officers.

A pursuit began after the man allegedly reversed his Audi into a police vehicle then crashed into a pole and hit another car.

He was treated by paramedics before being charged with dangerous driving and will appear in Burwood court in June.

Fines over travel and gathering bans

Four people have been charged for allegedly breaching physical-distancing laws across the Easter weekend.

Police also issued 58 $1,000 fines to people caught breaking the state's strict shutdown introduced last month in a bid to stop the spread of coronavirus.

NSW Police also said several motorists were fined after they were found to be travelling to visit family and friends over the Easter weekend.

Since March 17, NSW Police have issued 57 court attendance notices and 464 fines to people caught breaching the social-distancing laws.

Aged care coronavirus fears

A man fears his 87-year-old father was potentially exposed to COVID-19 in an aged care home where a healthcare worker did six shifts despite showing symptoms of her coronavirus.

Anglicare confirmed a health care worker and resident have tested positive for the virus and was awaiting results about a second resident who presented with symptoms.

NSW Health Minister Brad Hazzard said the worker had put vulnerable people at risk.
