ARIA Hall of Famer Daryl Braithwaite will headline the return of live music in Hunter wine country with the announcement of Sunset Sounds.
The baby boomer-focused music festival will be held at Pokolbin's Roche Estate on Saturday, March 27.
Besides Braithwaite, who is best known for fronting Sherbet and his solo smash, The Horses, Sunset Sounds promises some of "Australia's most well-loved '70s, '80s and '90s hit-makers gracing the stage and taking a whole generation back to a time when rock'n'roll was a way of life and there wasn't a camera phone in sight."
The line-up includes Cold Chisel guitarist Ian Moss, The Black Sorrows, Kate Ceberano, Ross Wilson, Glenn Shorrock, Richard Clapton, Thirsty Merc, Dragon, Russell Morris, Shannon Noll, 1927, Matt Finish and Mark Gable of the Choirboys as the special MC.
The Hunter's usually jam-packed spring and summer concert season has been completely cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
On October 24 British legend Rod Stewart was supposed to perform at Roche Estate, while this Saturday UK folk-pop star James Blunt was scheduled to return to Bimbadgen.
Another major cancellation was Scottish new wave band Simple Minds, who were scheduled to perform at Bimbadgen on December 5.
To comply with COVID-safe government regulations Sunset Sounds will be operating at a reduced capacity.
Tickets go on sale through Ticketek from 10am on Tuesday, November 24.
