In the five years since she stopped performing live, Sia Furler’s music has exploded in popularity. It’s not a total coincidence: she’s also spent that time fostering an air of mystery, getting the likes of Shia LaBeouf to do the leg work for her videos, and spending her TV appearances hiding behind a selection of fringes (although she did give her face a rare outing in a recent Transparent cameo). But now, with the release of seventh album This Is Acting imminent, she’s announced her return to the stage with slots at Helsinki’s Flow festival (12-14 Aug, Parrukatu 2, Finland) …
Sia will also be playing at California’s Coachella (15-24 Apr, Empire Polo Club) – the latter of which also has a reconstituted Guns N’ Roses and LCD Soundsystem on the bill …
The past few years have seen Bring Me The Horizon dragging their thrashier tendencies into new arenas: daytime Radio 1, for instance (which had 2015’s Drown on heavy rotation), and the Royal Albert Hall, where they’ll play a sold-out Teenage Cancer Trust gig in April. Continuing their assault on the mainstream, the band have just announced a big winter tour (2-8 Nov, tour starts Motorpoint Arena, Nottingham).
