Covid-19 rose to become the third leading cause of death in England in August, the ONS has revealed, up from the ninth leading cause in July.
This is the highest ranking for Covid-19 since March, when it was also the third leading cause of death.
And government figures show a total of 160,000 deaths have now been registered in the UK with Covid-19 mentioned on the death certificate.

The Government said a further 203 people had died within 28 days of testing positive for Covid-19 as of Tuesday, bringing the UK total to 135,455.
As of 9am on Tuesday, there had been a further 31,564 lab-confirmed Covid-19 cases in the UK.
