Live-in partner kills man in Madhya Pradesh's Khandwa

INDORE: A 26-year-old man was murdered and thrown in the lake in Khandwa by his live-in girlfriend and her brother-in-law. Police arrested both the accused on Wednesday.

The incident was reported in Ramnagar on Monday night. Body of youth Sanjay Bamne, who had been living in the flat of his girlfriend Shabana for the past two years, was found near the lake and injury marks were found on his body.

During questioning, the officials found blood stains in his flat because of which they suspected involvement of Shabana. The officials reached her house and during questioning, she accepted committing the crime.

ASP Seema Alawa said that the woman was estranged from her husband and lived with her daughter after which she met the accused Sanjay and they fell in love. After living together for a while, they married each other, she claimed. The accused told police that Sanjay was always drunk and used to beat her up. She started an affair with her brother-in-law Hakim Baks.

On Monday night, Hakim was sleeping in front room of her house when Sanjay walked in and took offence. They entered into a dispute which escalated following which Hakim and Shabana murdered him in front of Shabana's daughter. She was later sent to Maheshwar. They both attacked on his head with a heavy object and then attacked on his neck with a sharp-edged weapon around seven times. They then strangulated him and packed his body in a sack and threw it in the lake.
