'Live hostage situation' as armed police close off residential road

Armed police have descended on a residential road amid reports of two people being held hostage inside a block of flats.

Several police cars and officers are at the scene in Grangetown in Middlesbrough.

Witnesses told TeessideLive that two people are being held hostage in a top floor flat. Police have not confirmed any details.
