Gardai seal off part of Fownes Street, Dublin as man in his 20s rushed to hospital following incident

Gardai have sealed off a busy area of Dublin City Centre following an incident that happened late on Sunday night.

A man in his 20s was rushed to St. James's Hospital following the public order incident at Fownes Street near the Dame Street area of Dublin 2.

The young man received non-life threatening injuries but still remains in hospital.

A source told Dublin Live that the area had been cordoned off for sometime as Gardai carry out further investigations.

A spokesman for the Gardai added: "Gardaí attended a public order incident at Fownes Street, last night, Sunday 19 January.

A male in his 20s was injured during the incident and was taken to St James Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

He added: "No arrests have been made and investigations are ongoing."
