Labor has made a number of gains in south-east Queensland, but losses in the north are preventing it from securing 47 seats, the number Annastacia Palaszczuk needs to form a majority state government.
Ms Palaszczuk remains confident she will secure a majority when the results in 10 seats — still too close to call on Saturday night — are finalised in the coming days.
