Emergency services have rushed to the scene as a fire has broken out at a school in North Dublin
Several units are currently attending the fire at Scoil Chaitriona Cailini in Artane and diversions have been put in place.
The Dublin Fire Brigade said: "We currently have a number of units at a building fire off the Malahide Road near Mask Avenue, a tanker has been requested to supplement the water supply.
"Traffic restrictions in immediate vicinity."
Low water pressure made it difficult for firefighters who managed to control the blaze by 8am.
It's understood the main hall of the school on the senior side has taken the brunt of the damage and a canteen and some classrooms have been gutted.
A roof has also fallen through.
Gardai have confirmed they're attending the scene saying that the alarm was raised at around 6am this morning.
A spokesperson told Dublin Live: "Gardai and Fire Services are currently dealing with a fire at a School on Mask Ave, Artane. The alarm was raised shortly after 6am."
A text has been sent out to parents this morning informing them that the school will be closed today.
Over 200 girls from the Coolock area attend the school which has been running since 1960.
Nearby St Paul's Youth Club will be open for tea and coffee from 9am for the local community.
