Virus fragments found in NSW sewage as authorities warn testing numbers are falling

Residents of Batemans Bay and Liverpool have been asked to get tested in the wake of virus fragments being discovered in sewage in the region.

The number of people getting tested has fallen across NSW in recent days, concerning authorities.

In other news, South Australian travellers won't have to quarantine when entering Victoria and New South Wales.

These were Sunday's key events:

  • The United States has hit a record 16 million COVID-19 cases, with the death toll nearing 300,000
  • There were no new cases of COVID-19 in South Australia
  • NSW recorded no new locally acquired cases of COVID-19
  • Queensland had another day of no new cases
  • There were no new local cases in Victoria
  • Testing rates are low in NSW where virus fragments have been found found in Liverpool and Batemans Bay sewage
