Live concert version of Elton John biopic Rocketman to be screened in Glasgow

A live concert version of critically acclaimed Elton John biopic Rocketman is coming to Glasgow.

The multi-award winning film will tour the UK and Ireland this summer with a full orchestra performing its iconic soundtrack live to picture.

Taking place at Glasgow Royal Concert Hall on Wednesday, June 17, the film will be projected onto a huge ultra-HD screen, whilst the orchestra on stage brings to life the stunning soundtrack - the music of Elton John.

Starring Taron Egerton in the title role, the film depicts Elton John's life and journey to becoming one of the most decorated and successful icons of popular music.

Directed by Dexter Fletcher and written by Lee Hall, the film saw Taron singing his way through Elton’s success with ubiquitous hits such as Your Song, Tiny Dancer, I’m Still Standing, and more.

The film also stars Jamie Bell as Elton’s longtime lyricist and writing partner Bernie Taupin, Richard Madden as Elton’s first manager, John Reid, and Bryce Dallas Howard as Elton’s mother Sheila Farebrother.

Tickets for the event are priced between £32.50 and £65.50. Find out more about the screening here.
