The royal commission ends its final round of public hearings with questions over the banking regulator's effectiveness and resourcing, but without landing a killer blow.
There was no lengthy closing statement to this round of hearings and no suggestion of criminal or civil penalties, merely thanks from Rowena Orr and Commissioner Kenneth Hayne to their colleagues, the witnesses and even the media.
