Live clinic: Housing market

Live clinic: Housing market
Confused outlook: put your homebuying questions to our panel of experts. Photograph: Christopher Thomond

In February the average price of a home rose by 0.3% to £204,164, according to the communities and local governments department. This followed news from the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors that the housing market is flat, demand has slumped, and house prices prices are actually falling. Confused?

Now spring has sprung – the traditional time of year when many people look to move home – and even if the house price headlines haven't put you off attempting to get on (or off) the ladder, you may be pondering a plethora of property-related questions.

What can you do to make your current home stand out to potential buyers? What early warning signs should you look out for to avoid excessive costs when buying or selling? What should you be aware of when searching for properties online? What questions do you need to ask an estate agent of seller?

If you need answers to the above, or are confused by the minefield of statistics and information and wondering whether now is actually the right time for you to buy or sell a house, why not put your questions to our panel of property experts, including David Hollingworth of London & Country Mortgages, Martin Codd from Dawsons solicitors, and the team at Zoopla, who will be taking part in our live clinic this Wednesday at 12.30pm.
