The Jeremys star as Giants down the Tigers

The Giants Jeremys — Cameron and Finlayson — have combined for 12 goals to propel GWS to a 49-point win over an ailing Richmond in Sydney.

Cameron troubled the Tigers with his mobility and aerial ability kicking 7.5 despite appearing to favour a shoulder in the second half.

Finlayson, who has played most of his senior football as a back, comfortably exceeded his four-goal tally from his 17 previous games, booting 5.1.

He kicked three straight GWS goals either side of half-time as the surging Giants led by as much as 28 in the third quarter, and by 20 at the final break.

GWS kicked six goals to one in the last quarter to ice a 19.11 (125) to 10.16 (76) win.

The Tigers injury woes continued as they played almost all the game one man down after Jayden Short dislocated an elbow early in the first quarter.

It was another sobering day for the Tigers, who were coming off a 44-point loss to Collingwood.

They couldn't match the efficiency, run and pressure of the home team at Giants Stadium.

Cameron scored all but one of the Giants 16 first quarter points, but Richmond led by eight at the first break.

The Giants kicked four straight goals and six majors to two in the term to be up by 15 at half-time.

GWS speedster Lachie Whitfield logged a career-best 41 disposals while Jacob Hopper and Stephen Coniglio also provided plenty of run for the hosts.

Ruckman Shane Mumford was solid in his first game since 2017.

Tom Lynch had his best goal return as a Tiger kicking 4.1 while Kane Lambert tallied 34 touches.

Richmond debutant Sydney Stack also showed some promising signs.

Dustin Martin cut a frustrated figure for much of the afternoon, making little impact with his 15 touches as he struggled against Matt De Boer.

Swans break their duck against Carlton

Isaac Heeney has burst back to form with four goals, leading Sydney to a 19-point win over Carlton.

The Swans held off the Blues in Saturday afternoon's last quarter, winning 14.9 (93) to 10.14 (74) at Docklands.

It's the first win of the season for Sydney and a third-straight honourable loss for Carlton, who had pulled to within 13 points midway through the last quarter.

Heeney, who had been quiet in the opening two rounds, was paid a questionable free kick and kicked the sealer late in the final term.

He had 26 disposals, including 14 contested possessions, and shared best-afield honours with Blues co-captain Patrick Cripps.

The Carlton onballer was again awesome with 27 disposals and a whopping 13 clearances.

Sydney veteran Jarrad McVeigh limped off in the last quarter with a quad injury.

Teammate Will Hayward suffered a suspected broken jaw when he landed heavily in the second term, while a hamstring injury forced off Carlton forward Mitch McGovern early in the third.

After 11 goals and eight lead changes in the first quarter, Sydney were up by three points.

The Swans kicked a further three goals in the second term and two more in the third.

Sydney led by 31 points late in the third quarter thanks to a great snap from Heeney and only a run of four-straight behinds from the Swans had kept the game from becoming a blowout.

But Ed Curnow kicked his third goal after a mark and 50m penalty.

Key forward Harry McKay marked and goaled on the three-quarter time siren to reduce the margin to 19 points and keep it interesting.

Heeney's third goal a minute into the last quarter restored the margin to four goals, but Curnow's fourth — a career-best haul — maintained the pressure.

The Blues scored three behinds before Heeney kicked the winner at 24 minutes.

Carlton ruckman Andrew Phillips was a late withdrawal with a corked quad and Swans opponent Callum Sinclair took full toll.

The Sydney ruckman dominated with 16 disposals and 40 hit-outs.

Swans defender Callum Mills restricted Carlton star Marc Murphy, while Blues key defender Liam Jones had a great game on Sydney star Lance Franklin.

With solid support from fellow backman Jacob Weitering, Jones kept Franklin to two goals in the first half.
