Live broadcast: Guardian Sustainable Business Quarterly

Guardian Sustainable Business Quarterly (GSBQ) is a series of thought-provoking evening events that connect sustainability professionals with one another, the latest thinking and best practice. For those of you who can't be with us in London we're live streaming the opening panel discussion.

Join us for our live broadcast of the event at 6pm on 22 September and follow us on Twitter to see live updates on what is being said using #GSBQ.

Chaired by Jo Confino, the panel will consider the power of brands to mainstream sustainability. The role of brands as change agents is growing rapidly, they garner more power than any international organisation by sheer force of the number of people they touch. With this power comes responsibility.

Jo will be asking the panel to consider:

• If there is no option but to be part of the conversation, how do brands participate and engage?

• Can brands inspire real change?

• If change can be inspired by a small group of activists, whose voices are amplified many times over by social media, how can businesses ensure they are able to participate and respond?

• How do brands respond to transparency and citizen's growing ability to hold them to account?

Our discussion panel includes:

Niall Dunne, chief sustainability officer, BT

Andy Hobsbawn, founder, Dothegreenthing.com

Francis Quinn, director, sustainable development, L'Oréal

Sally Uren, deputy CEO, Forum for the Future
