More than 175 close contacts of two travellers who skipped quarantine now self isolating

Everyone that was on board the Melbourne-bound Virgin Airways flight shared by two international travellers who skipped quarantine in Sydney, as well as Melbourne Airport employees, have been advised to quarantine.

Here's a summary of what happened on Sunday.

  • NSW Police admitted they 'incorrectly' let German nationals fly to Melbourne without quarantining.
  • More than 175 close contacts of the two travellers, including other passengers and Melbourne Airport employees, are now self isolating.
  • The two travellers tested negative to COVID-19, but will undergo further testing.
  • Meanwhile, further restrictions were eased in Victoria, with more office workers allowed to return and more visitors allowed in homes.
  • Victoria, South Australia and the ACT continued their streak of recording no new COVID-19 cases.
  • Queensland recorded two cases and NSW recorded five new cases, all in hotel quarantine.
