Live at the Castle: Enniskillen festival to host top music and comedy acts over 10 days in March

A new music and comedy festival is set for Enniskillen this spring as Live at the Castle sets up in March.

The 10 day festival is set to feature a host of top local and international acts at Enniskillen Castle.

The event has been brought together by Enniskillen BID, with manager Noelle McAloon saying the event is the latest aimed at making the Co Fermanagh town a go-to destination.

“There’s going to be a main tent in the grounds of the castle for 10 days in the middle of March.

“The easement of restrictions yesterday was welcome and we’re hoping for brighter times in the future.

“We’ve endured a lot and this is us trying to inject a bit of positivity into Enniskillen.

“We are hoping to engage with some local groups as well to have community events, and it’s looking like a packed schedule.

“There will be different genres on different nights, and the acts will be released at different times.”

Noelle added the event was set up as a way of bringing more people to the town following recent success from the staycation market.

“Enniskillen has developed so much. The pandemic has been awful but there has been so many opportunities for Enniskillen.

“The staycation numbers in summer 2020 and summer 2021 were just off the scale, so what we’re wanting to do is bring more events like this and bigger events.

“It’s another reason to come to Enniskillen. We’re very excited about the possibilities that this is bringing.”

A spokesperson for festival organisers D&M Events confirmed one of the nights of the festival will be used to provide free tickets to NHS workers.

"The whole ethos of this is that there has been no events for the last two years, so this is a way of bringing it back," the spokesperson said.

"With the Covid restrictions being lifted we want to bring live gigs back and we think that's what people want to see."
