Live at Botanic Gardens gigs will not go ahead this summer

The outdoor 'Live at Botanic Gardens' gigs will not go ahead at the end of this month.

The news comes as dozens of events throughout Belfast have been cancelled this summer due to measures to prevent the spread of Coronavirus.

The Live at Botanic Gardens gigs were due to bring four big name music acts - Tom Jones, Sinead O'Connor, The National, and Fontaines DC - to one of Belfast's best known parks for a series of unique gigs.

Aiken Promotions have confirmed in a statement today that these gigs will no longer take place this month, but will be rescheduled until 2021.

In a statement, Live at Botanic Gardens said: "Aiken Promotions today confirmed that although Live at Botanic Gardens will not go ahead this summer, it will return in 2021.

"We are working to reschedule events, please bear with us and we will update on a show by show basis as soon as possible."

Aiken Promotions followed this announcement by confirming that they've already rescheduled two of these gigs for 2021.

Tom Jones, who was due to perform in Belfast on May 31 2020 and June 3 2020, will now be performing on May 30 and May 31, 2021 . Original tickets for these show will remain valid for 2021.

Aiken have confirmed that they will make further updates on the other shows in due course.
