Live Alfreton Road updates as major police cordon set up in street

A cordon has been put in place on a major Nottingham road following an incident. A number of police cars can be seen on Alfreton Road close to the city centre.

Nottinghamshire Live readers have contacted us saying that there are several vehicles at the scene near the junction with Peveril Street in Radford. It is not known what has happened yet but we are contacting Nottinghamshire Police for comment. We are not aware if anyone has been injured yet or taken to hospital.

Witnesses have described several police cars and officers being at the scene, with one person claiming there were 10 police cars in attendance although this has not yet been confirmed.

Reporter Joel Moore is heading to the scene to bring you the latest on this incident as it develops.
