Christy McGinity has announced the sad passing of her two-week-old daughter, Violet Eve.
The 42-year-old Little Women: LA star shared the tragic news in a statement to US media in which she confirmed that the newborn she had with boyfriend Gonzalo Justo Carazo, had died just two weeks after her birth.
The statement read: "It is with our deepest sorrow that we send our baby girl Violet Eva Carazo to play with the angels.
"We were able to spend two weeks with our sweet baby girl and for that we are forever thankful.
"Please respect our privacy during this difficult time. Your thoughts and prayers are very much appreciated."
Christy had complained before the birth that she'd had a "rough" few weeks and Violet was prematurely born at just 33 weeks.
The couple have not released any details about the cause of death but the baby spent her life in the neonatal intensive care unit.
It was here that her parents celebrated the first week of her life in a sweet Instagram post.
Gonzalo wrote: "Happy One Week Old Birthday to our Baby Girl Violet. Thank U for making me a Dad and bringing me an entire new perspective during your first week of Life. We love you so much! #BabyGirl #1stTimeDad #7WeeksEarly #OverprotectiveDad #Daddysgirl #NICUBaby #Love #OneDayAtATime."
The pair knew that their daughter's chances were limited when she born, which they announced on Instagram: "Our sweet Violet Eva has arrived. Your thoughts and prayers are appreciated."
Christy had previously documented her pregnancy on Instagram with her followers knowing that she'd had a difficult few months.
The reality star has two other children from a previous marriage, Autumn and Trent.
