A £4 dessert sold at Tesco, Lidl and other shops has been selling out thanks to a popular TikTok trend.
The social media platform is full of shoppers hunting for Little Moons mochi desserts and Edinburgh locals are no exception.
The viral desserts are available in 12 flavours from a number of supermarkets, and some desperate Edinburgh locals even admitteded in a TikTok post that they had been 'hunting around Edinburgh' for the pudding.
In the video, the two capital residents drive around Edinburgh together before finally finding the sought after dessert in the Green Tea flavour.
There are thousands of similar videos on TikTok of people joining the trend and heading to their local supermarket to get their hands on the often sold-out dessert.
The hashtag #littlemoonsmochi has now racked up more than 35.7 million views, with most videos claiming that the unusual desserts are "amazing".
The dessert is made of mochi, a rice flour dough that has been steamed to create its soft and chew texture, which is then wrapped around the ice cream balls to create the dessert.
The flavours include Himalayan Salted Caramel, Sumatran Coconut, Uji Matcha Green Tea, Cookie Dough, Mango and Strawberries and Cream.
In another video, an Edinburgh local films herself "on the hunt for little moons" commenting that she found them in 'Aihua Chinese Supermarket.'

Starlight Chinese Supermarket in Newington has also uploaded a video to TikTok to let people know that they have the viral dessert "back in stock."
