Little Mix star Perrie Edwards has revealed she is expecting her second child with footballer fiancé Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain in a touching Instagram post.

The couple, who are already parents to four-year-old son Axel, shared a black-and-white video showing the youngster kissing his mother’s baby bump.

In the clip, Perrie is first seen with her back to the camera, wearing a white T-shirt printed with the lyrics to her new single, “If He Wanted To, He Would.” As the track plays, she turns to reveal her bump with a delighted smile, before being embraced by Alex. Axel then joins them for a family hug.

She wrote in the caption of her post: "Guess what hunnies…"

The post has generated over 580,000 likes from the Geordie singer's 18.8 million followers, with scores of congratulations from her celebrity friends, including her Little Mix bandmates.

Jade Thirlwall wrote: "Love you and so happy for you all."

Leigh-Anne Pinnock added: "Just the best news! Love you all."

It comes after Perrie and Alex endured more than their share of heartbreak after she suffered two miscarriages.

In a recent episode of Paul C Brunson’s We Need To Talk podcast, Perrie Edwards revealed she has suffered two miscarriages — one before the birth of her son Axel, and another afterwards.

She explained that her first pregnancy ended very early when she began bleeding and rushed to hospital.

“So I had a miscarriage very early on with my first ever pregnancy, and it was so early,” she said. “I remember finding out I was pregnant. Obviously, I started bleeding not long after, and I went to the hospital and I had the scan and they were like, ‘There’s no baby.’

“And I was like, ‘Oh, I’ve made this up. Maybe I got a false positive or something.’ And I remember being on my own at the appointments because nobody was there.”

As a result, Perrie said she felt “on edge” during much of her pregnancy with Axel, who was born in August 2021, and “just wanted to get past” the 12-week scan.

She described her pregnancy with Axel as “one of the happiest times of my life,” adding: “I just love carrying babies. And it was lovely. But I was a bit on edge thinking, oh gosh, like, I want to get past the 12 weeks. I want to get past this. And when I get past every scan… that pregnancy was complete bliss, it was perfect.”

Perrie revealed she became pregnant again during Little Mix’s final tour in 2022, but miscarried at 20 weeks.

“We fell pregnant again after. So maybe a year and probably not even. Actually, yeah, not even a year, because Axel wasn’t even walking yet and we were pregnant,” she recalled.

“I remember thinking, right, I found out when I was rehearsing for the Little Mix tour, the last Little Mix tour, I was at rehearsals and I thought, oh, I don’t feel good. Every symptom under the sun. I was like, I think I’m pregnant.

“And then we went for what was a 20-week scan, but we were actually 22 weeks, and that was just the worst day of my life. Like horrendous. And I just knew something was wrong in the scan, and he just kept going over the same thing, over the same thing… I’ve never experienced an out-of-body experience where everything goes in slow motion.”

She praised her fiancé, footballer Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, for supporting her through the heartbreak.

“He’s very mature. He’s very laid back. He’s very level-headed. He’s not the type to get mad or get angry or get funny about things,” she said.
