Little Mix's Leigh-Anne and Perrie share pregnancy struggles like swollen ankles

Little Mix’s pregnant stars Leigh-Anne Pinnock and Perrie Edwards suffered swollen ankles and heavy outfits on the set of their Heartbreak Anthem music video - as they disguised their pregnancies.

Two out of the three members of the girl group are currently expecting their first child, but before they made the announcement, filmed music videos and hid their bumps.

While their first video Confetti saw them embrace drag king personas and wear loose-fitting clothing , the second proved a little harder.

Alongside bandmate Jade Thirlwall, Leigh-Anne and Perrie - both in the early stages of their pregnancies at the time - were strapped into heavy outfits and bound into corsets.

In a behind-the-scenes video released by Galantis, who collaborated with the girls on the track alongside David Guetta, the girls were seen discussing the pitfalls of their demanding music videos.

Now we know they were pregnant at the time, what they said brought on a whole new meaning to ‘going the extra mile’.

Perrie beamed as she spoke about her excitement for the video, and said: “I’m literally living my childhood dream in this video. The glitz, the glamour, the hair is so crazy. The outfits and the wings… we are going to be like creatures.”

However, she added: “It’s just the start, so ask me in a few hours how uncomfortable and how in pain I am, because this dress weighs... I think they said a stone.”

Leigh-Anne was also quick to comment on her swollen ankles, doing exercises in between takes to try and keep them at bay.

She added: “I am going to have such a bad back tomorrow, but I’m sure it’s going to look amazing and it’s all going to be worth it.”

The final video was inspired by book Nights At The Circus by Angela Carter, and follows the story of a girl starting a new life for herself after hatching out of an egg.

Perrie and Leigh-Anne both announced their baby news within a week of each other back in May - and are believed to be due at around the same time.

They later debuted their baby bumps at the Brit Awards , where the group became the first ever girl group to win the best group award.

As part of their speech, they commemorated Jesy Nelson, who left the group last year, as well as a number of girl groups who they said paved the way - including Spice Girls, All Saints and Girls Aloud.

Earlier this week, Leigh-Anne - who is expecting with footballer fiance Andre Grey - shared a look into her glamorous baby shower shared with sister Sairah, including the huge balloon arch and decorations completely covering her garden.

Close to the balloons was a sign that read “Love you to the moon and back” in the centre of a crescent moon decoration.

She’s also shared numerous photos of her growing baby bump, including while on holiday and around her home.

Perrie is having a child with long-term boyfriend , footballer Alex Oxlaide-Chamberlain - and has since shared that she’s become addicted to sour sweets thanks to pregnancy craving.
