Little Mix fans and Jonathan Ross viewers were left confused on Saturday night when the girl group appeared on the show but were separated by perspex screens.
Days after it was announced that their bandmate Jesy Nelson was taking 'an extended break' from the band for medical reasons, Jade Thirlwall, Perrie Edwards and Leigh-Anne Pinnock joined Jonathan and fellow studio guests Michael McIntyre and Joe Wicks to chat about everything from potential proposals to drunkenly recording songs from their new album Confetti.
The three girls even played a revealing game of I Have Never but, as entertaining as their appearance was, the biggest talking point was the screens before the girls.
While, of course screens have become rather common place in the current climate in salons, restaurants and TV studios in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic; Jade, Perrie and Leigh-Anne have recently appeared together on Little Mix's BBC talent show The Search and Children in Need, as well as hosting the MTV European Music Awards, where they also performed new single Sweet Melody.
So the fact the girls, who walked onto set together, had screens between them was rather confusing, given the assumption they were all in a work bubble, similar to that of Ant and Dec on I'm A Celebrity and the couples on Strictly Come Dancing.
The whole thing was made even stranger by the fact there were no screens separating Jonathan, Michael and Joe and the girls went onto sing together at the end of the show.
Taking to Twitter, one viewer posted: "Why the f**k have the little mix girls got screens between them??? You can’t tell me they have kept 2m apart all this time" and another tweeted: "Why have they put screens inbetween Little Mix on Jonathan Ross ?!!! Arn't they together all the time anyway?!"
A third posted: "Screaming at Little Mix sitting on #TheJRshow with perspex screens in between them as if they don't post pictures and videos all over each other rehearsing during the week"
