Little Mix's Jade Thirlwall left 'hot and bothered' by Paul Hollywood on Celebrity Bake Off

Singer Jade Thirlwall says Paul Hollywood's eyes make her "hot and bothered", when appearing alongside him on Celebrity Bake Off.

The Little Mix star says she is a 'proper fan' of the Bake Off judge as she tries her best to get a special Paul Hollywood handsake from him on the show.

Jade appears on the Great Celebrity Bake Off for Stand Up to Cancer tonight on Channel 4, the Mirror reports.

But before making the move to speak to Paul and fellow judge Prue Leith, Jade tells the cameras: "I think I will be a bit starstruck when I see Paul and Prue.

"I am a proper fan and Paul’s eyes are something else aren’t they? I’m getting all hot and bothered."

Then after meeting him for this first time, she adds: "Oh, Paul’s eyes! Very intense isn’t it?"

Jade Thirlwall is joined by host Matt Lucas and the other three special celebrity guests, TV presenter Stacey Dooley, comedian Katherine Ryan and internet influencer KSI.

The celebrities show off their baking skills to try and impress Paul and Prue.

They serve up cocktail-flavoured fondant fancies, have a go at a pastry technical and in the showstopper they must use biscuit and meringue to create a scene showing something they cannot live without.

There are plenty of surprises, with one bake in the show described as looking 'like a murder scene.'

On her baking skills, Jade said: "My experience up until Bake Off was that yes, I have baked – but always a pre-made pack."

She added she practised for two days before the show with mixed results.

Jade said: "I attempted the first challenge. It went horrifically wrong, then I tried it again and it went OK.

"Then I tried the big showstopper. I think I did a good job but once the time is whittled down to three-and-a-half hours, it can all go a bit pear-shaped."

She also told how raising cash for Stand Up To Cancer is close to her heart after the loss of her nana and auntie.

Jade said: "Until you see someone you really love experience cancer, you don’t fully realise how terrible it is."

The Great Celebrity Bake Off for Stand Up to Cancer is on tonight, Tuesday March 30, at 8pm.
