Little Mix reveal how they plan to continue without Jesy Nelson

Little Mix have appeared to confirm how they’ll continue without Jesy Nelson.

Nelson, 29, announced she had officially quit the band on Monday (14 December) after weeks of speculation.

Her band mates, Jade Thirlwall, Leigh-Anne Pinnock and Perrie Edwards, have recently been appearing as a trio after Nelson stepped down from public engagements in October.

Nelson shared the news on social media, explaining that she came to her decision due to the band taking a toll on her mental health.

“There comes a time in life when we need to reinvest in taking care of ourselves rather than focusing on making other people happy, and I feel like now is the time to begin that process,” she wrote.

Following the news, Little Mix fans were left wondering what Nelson’s departure meant for the future of the band, who formed on The X Factor in 2011.

It now seems they will continue as a trio as opposed to finding a replacement for Nelson.

“We are still very much enjoying our Little Mix journey and the three of us are not ready for it to be over,” the band wrote in a statement.

They praised Nelson and said they were “supportive” of her decision before revealing they would be proceeding with their tour as normal in 2021.

“We’re looking forward to seeing so many of you on tour," they wrote.

Little Mix’s most recent studio album, Confetti, was called “a glamorous statement of independence” by The Independent.
