Little Mix gush over new sisterhood as trio while Jesy Nelson records new music

Little Mix have spoken of their "new dawn" as a trio months after Jesy Nelson's exit from the group.

Singers Perrie Edwards, Leigh-Anne Pinnock, and Jade Thirlwall have reflected on their journey as a band and what comes next for them in a new interview with GLAMOUR.

The talk comes after fourth member Jesy Nelson departed the girlband in December 2020 due to struggles with her mental health.

In the new discussion with the three remaining band members, the singers have reflected on how the Covid-19 pandemic and line-up change has forced the them to spend more time apart from one another and think on their goals - which may be better for them in the long run.

Jade explained: "I'm not saying that we're codependent, but we do heavily rely on each other, so it's been healthy to take a step back and think, 'What do I want?'"

She continued: "As we come together and work together this year, we'll have an even better and healthier relationship with that perspective.

"This time's taught me that I am still figuring out who I am, too... It's beautiful that we're still a group, but we want to help push each other to do our own thing, too."

Jade added: "It's like a new dawn of Little Mix."

These thoughts of growth and being there for each other were supported by Perrie.

Perrie added: "That's totally OK. We're not going to know, individually.

"We've always had each other, it's always Little Mix - it's us."

The thoughts of her bandmates were mirrored by Leigh-Anne who described them all as "sisters".

She said: "It's never been an option to not be together and we've always known that we are sisters."

The words from the ladies come as they get used to life without their beloved Jesy, who is carving a new path of her own.

In a statement following Jesy's departure in December, the girls said in a statement: "This is an incredibly sad time for all of us but we are fully supportive of Jesy.

"We love her very much and agree that it is so important that she does what is right for her mental health and well-being."

Meanwhile, Jesy herself last month appeared to confirm that she would be starting her new solo career by heading to the recording studio.
