Little Mix cancel summer tour as coronavirus crisis puts halt to Ayr Racecourse gig

Pop supergroup Little Mix have today announced the cancellation of their summer gig at Ayr Racecourse.

The girls were due to take to the stage on Saturday, July 25.

But they confirmed their summer tour would not be taking place due to restrictions around the ongoing coronavirus crisis.

The group declared the health and safety of their fans and crew is their top priority.

The singers announced the news in a statement posted on Twitter, explaining: "We are so sad to announce that following the latest government advice, we have to cancel our upcoming summer tour.

"The health and safety of all our fans and crew is always our number one priority.

"Please look out for an email from your ticketing agent shortly.

"Please only contact them if you have not received an email by 5th May. Please stay safe and stay home, lots of love the girls x."

The tour had been due to kick off in June with Little Mix playing stadiums across the country.

They had also been booked to perform in London's Hyde Park on July 4.
