'Little Mermaid' star Halle Bailey and DDG end two-year romance; to co-parent son Halo

After more than two years together, Halle Bailey and rapper DDG have parted ways.

The couple, on Thursday, took to social media to confirm that they have decided to end their romance and focus on their individual careers. In a post shared by DDG, he began, "After much reflection and heartfelt conversations, Halle and I have decided to go our separate ways."

In a heartfelt statement shared with his fans via Instagram, DDG opened up about the split and how they plan to move forward as co-parents. He wrote, "This decision was not easy, but we believe it’s the best path forward for both of us. I cherish the time we’ve spent together and the love we’ve shared. Despite the change in our relationship, our love for each other remains deep and true."

The rapper added that despite their breakup, they remain close and focused on co-parenting their toddler son, Halo. He wrote, "We are still best friends and adore each other. As we focus on our individual journeys and our roles as co-parents, we cherish the bond we’ve built and the beautiful moments we’ve shared. As we navigate this transition, we ask for your understanding and support."

The couple, last seen publicly together just last week, prompted shocked reactions from fans, who thought the two looked happy together in videos that had surfaced from a club.

Halle has not released her own statement at this time but took to her handle to post photos with her brother and wish him on his birthday.

Bailey and DDG's relationship often made headlines. In July 2023, the rapper sparked controversy with the lyrics to his song "Famous," in which he expressed insecurities about his girlfriend's fame and their financial dynamics.
