A bold shop owner left little to the imagination during a windswept New Years dip.
Lewis Costley just about bared all in a see-through mankini as made a splash on the first day of 2022.
The 22-year-old who runs Ocean Stores in Ayr almost fully exposed himself to the freezing conditions to coin it in for charity.
And as stormy weather battered the coast Lewis hit the waves dressed in the skin tight costume in aid of Whiteleys Retreat.
The bold trader was joined by loyal customers who regularly take to the water on paddle boards.
And Lewis admits the whole experience took his breath away as he reacted to the bitterly cold water.
Speaking to Ayrshire Live Lewis said: “It was absolutely freezing, I now totally understand what people say when they talk about cold water shock.
“A couple of customers joined me who were paddle boarders and they had the right gear on.
“I couldn’t catch my breath the whole time, they were trying to talk me through it but I couldn’t get the words out.”
Lewis says he was loaned the skimpy costume from a customer who is a “great supporter of the shop”.
He added: “I needed something to make me stand out from the crowd and I think I managed that.”
After stripping off, Lewis has set his sights on making the dip a new tradition.
His dip has managed to so far bring in £935 for the charity with both cash donations and online fundraisers still open.
