A little girl who was left locked in her own body after collapsing at home died on Christmas Day.
Abigail Johnston was described as "a kind, loving and intelligent young lady" by her devastated family.
The nine-year-old, from Norris Green, had been visited by Santa just hours before her death at Clare House on December 25.
Abigail, known by her loved ones as "Abbi", was rushed to hospital back in September after collapsing at home with her family.
Doctors told the their daughter had suffered a bleed on the brain and further tests revealed she had a very aggressive and terminal tumour.
At the time, Abbi was given just days to live but the strong little girl powered through for over four months, making her entire family proud.
Paying tribute to her, Abbi's dad Shaun said: "Abbi passed away shortly after Santa visited her and left all her presents at Clare House in the early hours of Christmas morning.
"Abbi was a kind, caring, loving and intelligent young lady, with a mischievous side and the most beautiful cheesy smile.
"She left behind a heartbroken family including dad Shaun, mum becky and her siblings Emily 17, Big Jasmine 20 and Little Jasmin, 9.
"And all of her nans, aunties, uncles and cousins.
"Once again we would like to thank Alder Hey hospital for the care and amazing support throughout.
"And Claire House for making her last three weeks as magical as it could be and not just looking after Abbi, but myself, Becky and Jas too.
"Also thanking them for ongoing support which will be invaluable and much needed in the coming weeks and years.
