Little girl blown away by stranger's kindness after finding note and gift in Asda

A little girl's day was turned into an unforgettable one after she found a sweet note from a stranger in Asda.

The girl was strolling through Asda in Liscard, Wirral, with her dad when she stumbled across what she thought was a 'lost' object.

But it soon became clear that it was a gift intended for the person who found it, reports Liverpool Echo.

Hidden amongst the shelves was what appears to be a small, hand-knitted item, with a note attached to it.

It read: "I am not lost, I am waiting for you.”

The girl's dad wrote about the unexpected find on a community Facebook page, where he called the selfless stranger "the best kind of human being".

Posting a photo of the knitted present, he wrote: “My daughter found this in Asda (Liscard) today. The best trait of a person is that of a person who goes out their way to make another smile.

"The best kind of human being."

Since being posted, the picture has been liked hundreds of times and has received comments from numerous locals who said they too have spotted gifts like this dotted around town.

One woman who said she also found one of the knitted gifts before Christmas believes it is the act of her local church who "hides them around for people to find".

One person wrote: “Beautiful, spreading a little happiness. Well done whoever did this x”

Another local woman said: “Random acts of kindness!”

A third person commented: “So sweet!”

But this isn't the only unlikely place that a note has been found, as one couple found a letter hidden in the walls of their home.

Karl Church, 49, and his partner Eve Jones, 48, were in the midst of renovating their bungalow in Kingsthorpe when they came across a letter.

The message was written by John Rainbow in 1953 after he decided to install patio doors in his home.
