Little girl, 6, shot in FACE by neighbour after her basketball rolls into his garden

A 6-year-old girl was allegedly shot in the face by an "armed and dangerous" man after her basketball accidentally rolled into his garden

Kinsley White was rushed to hospital after suspect Robert Louis Singletary, 24, came out of his house on Wednesday afternoon and allegedly fired shots across the street in North Carolina, US, after the ball ended up on his property.

He shot three people, including the girls' parents, and allegedly threatened to kill her dad William White, as he tried to shield the pair from the shooter.

Mum Ashley Hilderbrand claims he shouted: “I’m going to kill you” during the horrific attack which left William in hospital where he currently remains.

A fourth person was shot at but did not suffer injuries, according to police.

Kinsley was released a day later following her injuries as she appeared on local station WSOC-TV with stitches on her face asking why the gunman attacked her.

She said: “He came out with a gun, he started shooting. I hope my daddy is ok. Why did you shoot my daddy and me? Why did you shoot a kid’s dad?”

Mr Singletray faces multiple charges, including four counts of first-degree attempted murder, two counts of assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill, and one count of possession of a firearm by a felon.

He was accused of not letting her leave their flat until she cleaned up all of the evidence of the assault. The woman was able to escape just two hours later.

According to neighbours, Mr Singletray had recently moved to the area and often had arguments with people.

Cops have not identified the motive behind the attack which happened on Wednesday afternoon.

Police are currently working with the US Marshals Regional Fugitive Task Force to find Mr Singletary, who currently remains on the run.

The incident comes after 20-year-old Kaylin Gillis was shot dead in New York state after she and her friends accidentally pulled into the wrong driveway.
