Little Darlings by Jacqueline Wilson - review

Little Darlings is a heart-warming story with two girls from two different backgrounds, but when they have met once they seem to have known each other their whole lives. But how can a daughter of a famous rock star reunite with a normal girl? Follow the two girls’ (Sunset and Destiny) moving tale to find their true sisterhood. But how will they do it?

The moving tale is by the brilliant but different author Jacqueline Wilson, who has told several other tales with brilliance and talent. Also illustrated by the brilliant Nick Sharrat.

Predictably, my favourite characters are Sunset and Destiny. Even though the two girls are miles apart they are both truly little darlings, with Sunset and her bashful, shy, sweet self, and Destiny with her lovely voice, great comebacks, and bright, sunny self.

Jacqueline Wilson

It is hard to choose the best bit as all of the book is so brilliant. The most gripping moment in the book would have to be when Destiny enters the school talent test against the previous winner.

I would give this book 10/10. This book would be suitable for children aged 10-14. Jacqueline Wilson and Cathy Cassidy fans would love this book.
