Little Comets celebrate 10 year anniversary with live album and Boiler Shop gig

Tyneside trio Little Comets are releasing a live version of their debut album to celebrate its 10-year anniversary.

It's been 10 years since the indie band , who come from Jarrow and Washignton, recorded In Search of Elusive Little Comets, their first of four albums. To mark the birthday, the band spent a week at Liverpool’s Motor Museum Studio, recording a new live version of the record, which will available on vinyl for the first time.

Lead singer, Rob Coles, said: "It was a great experience re-recording the songs that helped us become the band we are today. It also brought back lots of fantastic memories of when we started out, playing house parties, doing gigs on public transport and by crashing university lectures. We’ve met so many lovely people on the way and remembering them really made it a very emotional experience."

Each record sleeve features unseen photos, a lyric booklet and snippets from Little Comets' past.

Bass player, Matt Hall said: "Over the years, a lot of people have asked us for a vinyl copy of our first album but our old label wouldn’t get any pressed so we decided to do it ourselves. Our guitarist, Mickey Coles, did all the producing, mixing and mastering and we think he’s come up with something that sounds really fresh without compromising the excitement of the original recordings."

The ‘In Search of Elusive Little Comets’ vinyl goes on re-sale on 1st October and can be ordered from www.littlecomets.bigcartel.com

Little Comets will be back on stage in Newcastle next month, where they will perform at Boiler Shop on November 15.

Tickets are on sale through Seetickets .
